What you will need:

Personal Equipment

Buying your Personal Equipment

During the Equipment Seminar you will be sized for your personal equipment.  Our staff will get you fitted properly and explain the benefits and costs of equipment ownership.

Personal Equipment is

the minimum equipment that every scuba diver should own.  This is the equipment you will use every dive, your Mask, Snorkel, Boots and Fins.

Not Ready to Buy?

No problem!  Rentals for the course are $175, and every item has a cost per day.  So if you rent on night one, but buy for the remainder of the course you will receive a credit.

But Consider This...

My mask lasted about 1500 dives before it needed replaced.  If I were to rent all those days I would have spent over $7500!  At $175 you are already half way to owning your own equipment!  And you will never need to rent again

Where and When?

2025 Calendar

What to expect

Training Dives

Completed over 2 days, you will do a total of 4 dives!

What to Expect:

4 Dives over 2 days, you will do very basic skills on the first dive, and slowly progress to some of the safety skills by the end of the dives.  You will get a chance to explore the environment, see some fish, and enjoy a day at the quarry.  After we are done diving, we head back to the shop to swap / drop off equipment

Strawberry Quarry

This private quarry has been a local favorite for Scuba Divers for the past few decades!  We dive Saturday and Sunday starting at 9am, and usually wrapping up around 3pm.

Gilboa Quarry

Once a month we take a trip out to Findlay Ohio to dive Gilboa Quarry.  This hidden Gem is designed for diving, and is a favorite dive spot for all our divers!  Not only do we use this quarry for our Open Water training, but we complete several other trainings here as well aided by the depth of the quarry (130 feet)

Referral Diving

We get it, you don't think you can handle the fresh water here in the north east.  And you would rather go dive in salty water.  We can send you with all the paperwork you need to complete your dives elsewhere.

Note: Training dives aren't the most fun, you have to complete some skills and are often with other brand new divers.  If you have the option, we recommend getting certified before you go on vacation, not while you are on vacation, this way you can enjoy your dives!
